After last Thursday’s “Decision”, a lot of questions arose regarding the effect of LeBron’s departure on the world of sneakers. After that minor derailing, the sneaker domain went back on track with astounding news MILK and events. Urlfreeze News brought you looks at two more of Air Jordan VII Retros – one with an extra logo and another without any at all. To even out the Retro releases, was the revelation of the Air Jordan Prime 5, a Jordan 1+5 hybrid. That was just part of the Air Jordan news, as extra updated info regarding upcoming releases was brought to light, such as the entire September line-up, as well as other 2011 drops. Between the new and the old was the opening of SoleFly, a Jordan Brand-affiliated sneaker boutique. The Future Sole 2010 Design Competition also came closer to an end, as the final 24 submissions were up for public vote.
The return of the fat-tongue led to a collective “Phew!”; this week, new colorways of the Mid and High reminded us that only the Low is the beneficiary of the fat tongue. LeBron James did indeed attract a ton of attention in the basketball world with his MVP LeBron VII, as well as the removal of the Nike ‘Witness’ billboard in Cleveland, but bonafide elite superstar Kevin Durant and his third sig shoe boxed LeBron out a bit. In South Korea, a sneaker showcase called Sole Exposition featured the best of Jordan, LeBron, and Kobe, but not to be outdone, some notable celebs in America showed off some heat too. And finally, we got a long-awaited look at the collaboration between ATF and Nike and a peek at some upcoming samples stirred the pot, particularly the Air Lunarmax+ 90. Your decision right now should be to “take your attention to Urlfreeze News Weekly Rewind,” because it looks like there’s a lot of good stuff ahead.
