Jeff Staple’s Nike SB Dunk Low ‘Pigeon’ is truly one of the all-time greats in the sneaker game. It took the shoe Michael Jordan wore during the greatest NBA season of all time to top the Pigeons in our March Madness Sneaker Tournament, but Staple’s SBs will always be remembered for the riot they caused in NYC a decade before the Space Jam AJXIs. And the Pigeons have spawned a flock of offspring, from Jeff’s own work with Converse and New Balance, to a sale of shoes borrowing the colorway including several ambitious customs.
The above pictured nike air foamposite copper sale today 90s by MizzeeCustoms might very well be the finest of those odes to the OG Pigeon, and they feature a ton of Staple-inspired details. From the sale of greys to the orange-dyed soles, the colorway is spot-on. These joints feature the ‘stpl’ logo on one tongue and ‘1 of 10’ on the other, in honor of the special edition lasered version, while the AM90’s signature heel tab has been removed to make room for the iconic bird insignias. As if all that weren’t good enough, Mizzee went a step further and added, shall we say, a ‘real’ look at what pigeons seem to spend all their time doing.
