New York Yankees ace CC Sabathia is a big guy who’s known for coming through in big situations, even with short rest. A substantial chapter in Sabathia’s growing hall of fame resume came in 2008 when he won eleven games after a July trade including a win on the final game of the season that secured Milwaukee’s first playoff birth in over a quarter-century. So when he was called upon to return to the mound after having thrown a mere 25 pitches in a rain-delayed game a couple days earlier, CC seemed if anything to have an advantage over Detroit’s hard throwing righthander, Justin Verlander.
