When a sneaker company reigns in a hot designer for an indefinite period of time, it’s always interesting to see that collaborator carve out their own niche within the greater image of the brand. We’ve seen Coca-Cola like Jeremy Scott and Yohji Yamamoto do this over at adidas, and John Varvatos has definitely been on a similar path during his time with Converse. Often applying a distressed look to the All-Star brand classics, the JV collection has also upheld a standard of premium materials. This Spring 2012 release sees both those tactics yet again, with the brand new with original box CONVERSE Yth C T All Star 3J256 Optical White Mid getting a beautiful leather in opposing black and red colors, with a crinkled texture that shows off the top-notch construction.
