Think you’re doin’ it when you’re on a G6 Jet? How about if you’re cruising in space? We recently showed you a preview video of Animal Nike Dunk Low, a project that was years in the making from next-level sculptor and artist Tom Sachs, who has a quirky obsessions with space travel and the ‘vintage’ Apollo program of the 60’s and 70’s. Working with Nike, he developed a space-ready capsule of artisanal gear dubbed NIKECraft, which features the Nike Mars Yard Shoe, the Trench, the MarsFly Jacket, and the Lightweight Tote – all built with applied materials taken from automotive air bags, mainsails for boats, and actual space suits, and other items never used before in Sportswear. Each purpose serves function as much as it does a visual interest, like the periodic table screen-printed onto the inside of the Trench. A detailed viewing of the Nike x Tom Sachs NIKECraft capsule is Sylvester below, so take a good look and let us know – should Nike outfit astronauts?
