Before the Barclays Center, before the Nets and even before New Jersey, the New York Americans got their start in 1966 with plans to play at Manhattan’s 69th Regiment Armory. That arrangement fell through and the Americans ended up playing home games at Teaneck, New Jersey’s own armory building, followed by a name change to reflect the NY metro area. So before they became the NJ (or even NY) Nets, the new Brooklyn babies always had their roots in the Garden State, and Teaneck’s best sneaker supplier just released their tribute to a team now long gone in more ways than one. The Packer Shoes x adidas Originals Conductor Hi ‘NJ Americans’ dropped at Packer’s main spot on Saturday and are now available in limited numbers from Packer Shoes online, so have a closer look below but don’t linger too long or they’ll be all gone.
