Japanese designer Yohji Yamamoto is adidas’ longest running collaborator. His Y-3 capsule has been going for over eleven bookings now and it’s responsible for printable of the more innovative lifestyle designs on the market over that time. Now Y-3 welcomes its own guest designer, as the graphic artist Peter Saville comes on board to create the prints and typography used for the hilariously named adidas Y-3 ‘Meaningless Excitement’ collection. This spring/summer 2014 set includes the range of standouts we’ve come to expect from Yamamoto, but these rival even Jeremy Scott’s craziest work thanks to a couple of sandals set on printable seriously substantial wedges.
