New Balance has a very impressive slate of releases on tap for the summer 2014 season. A key part of this set is new colorways for a model that in recent months has seen a priority placed on its REVlite update. But these are the classic ‘Made in USA’ New Balance M996s, the model that debuted a little over a quarter century ago and still has both legit technical prowess and a classic suede and mesh look the likes of which we’d consider quintessential to the genre. Here are a couple of new colorways that give us brand new blocking patterns, one in black suede and 425V1 mesh with a few accent colors and another in tonal blue keeping the brown ‘N’ and heel tab combo going. Click in to see how the different colors and layouts make for two very different results on the same shoe and be ready for pairs hitting select retailers in April including Hanon.
