Yohji Yamamoto‘s adidas Y-3 line has been as relevant as ever this year thanks to their usually out of reach aesthetic trickling down to the masses in the form of the adidas Tubular and more. The adidas Pureboost often times took a back seat to the Ultra Boost, but given how that particular silhouette was one of the finest offerings of 2015, the overshadowing shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise. Today we get a look at next year’s adidas Y-3 Pureboost and the differences are quite jarring. A seamless knit upper is interrupted thanks to a black ZX-like heel cage while a premium leather lining and tongue adds a lifestyle affect. Boost cushioning is prevalant in the midsole, but the entire sneaker sits atop a synthetic speckled base to protect the coveted technology.
