There’s a lot of talk surrounding sub 2-hour marathon times as Nike and adidas are backing some of the world’s best long-distance runners with hopes of sponsoring the first human to ever conquer the historic feat with brand new technology. Meanwhile, there are humans out there crazy enough to wear basic socks and Crocs throughout the entirety of a mini-marathon and capable enough to place 16th with a time just under 72 minutes. Benjamin Pachev and his ad Alexander Pachev don’t care too much about performance-based models and actually choose to run in the lifestyle-minded Crocs creation. According to the duo, a single pair can last them up to 2,000 miles!
“It’s like having a little fan that’s just streaming air over your foot,” Benjamin told FOX 59. Nike and adidas are battling each other with multi-million dollar campaigns centered around competing ZoomX and Boost technologies and this kid is comfortable running close to 10 miles per day in shoes that your grandma forgot about a half-decade ago. Whatever works!
