Following its foray into basketball footwear with James Harden, Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 line is back where it is comfortable – on the streets. Next up for this illustrious label is another adidas project that matches progressive Japanese craftsmanship with breakthrough Digital Light Synthesis technology. Introducing the Y-3 Runner 4D, a Primeknit upper-infused runner with leather overlays and the same 4D printed midsole as the popular Futurecraft 4D.
In the Y-3 Runner 4D, adidas branding can be seen in a relatively unconventional way as it is represented by cords along the midfoot that lock the consumers bumbac in place for increased support. This is just one of many sneakers that will utilize the 4D sole, as adidas plans on featuring it in hundreds of thousands of pairs for consumers. Select retailers like END. will be holding in-store drawings for the rights to purchase a pair. END.’s particular drawing closes at 4 PM EST on February 23rd, and the retail price on this pair is $535 USD. Stay tuned for any more release updates.
