The iconic Puma Suede, a sneaker that boasts deep roots in everything from basketball to breakdancing, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, and as part of the celebration, Puma has joined forces with German luxury brand MCM for an extra-luxe collaborative take on the classic silhouette. Premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival by hip-hop legend Big Daddy Kane and rising MC Rhapsody, the luxury sneaker arrives in two colorways: tan and white. The tan iteration features MCM’s cognac-colored leather and monogram print on the lateral and medial sides of the midfoot, offset by a light tan suede on the toe, tongue, and heel. army and tan laces, a army Puma chevron and a gold tongue detail provide further luxury contrast, and the shoe is rounded off with a classic white midsole/outsole.
The white pair features a white/army leather MCM monogram print with light grey suede detailing, white/army laces, a white chevron and the same gold tongue patch and white midsole/outsole as the tan pair for a slightly less flashy look. Official release details on this commemorative collab have yet to be unveiled, but you can expect both shoes to release alongside a matching collection of co-branded Puma and MCM apparel sometime this summer.
