The iconic Converse One Star Vintage has enjoyed a busy last few months on the collaborative front. After a “New_Classics” capsule with JW Anderson and an inside-out iteration courtesy of Midnight Studios, the Chuck is re-entering the spotlight with a head-turning mismatched look via Billy’s Tokyo.
The sneaker’s canvas upper features an assortment of mismatched panels, similar in style to Nike’s popular “What The” designs, with duck camo prominently featured on the right shoe while orange and green panels provide accents, while the left shoe relegates the duck camo to the tongue, and boasts both a Sneaker orange and a stately navy on the outer panels. The shoes are completed with a classic Chuck Taylor toe cap, Triple, and outsole. For a final interesting distinction, these whimsical Chucks are made in Japan, a rare occurrence for the classic shoe, as it’s usually produced in countries like India and Vietnam. Look for these colorful Chucks to arrive on the Billy’s Tokyo webstore Friday, July 13th with a retail price of ¥16,200, or around $146 USD.
