Throughout the entirety of the “Suede 50” program from Puma, we have seen an expansive set of collaborations that tap into creatives from all over pop culture. Seeing the silhouette transform with the luxe leather finishings of MCM and the pure craftsmanship of United Arrows director Poggy, the Suede has clearly showcased its almost limitless potential. The German footwear company is not quite done, however, as it gears up to launch a thoughtfully curated capsule with the fashion icon Karl Lagerfeld.
Lagerfeld has spent the majority of his career working within the fashion industry, establishing himself as a notable name from the age of 17. Offering up his expertise to luxury names like Balmain, Fendi, and Chloe, he has surely honed his own eclectic design sense that blends a bit of edge into high-end clothing. Infusing that same ideology into this collaborative capsule, Lagerfeld crafts two unisex Suede colorways that take on his iconic look as inspiration. While both are finished with a monochromatic palette, the first sports a primarily white upper with a black form stripe and a removable sunglass detailing that rests on top of the lace unit. The second is a more contemporary set piece that is heavily reminiscent of a tuxedo as the black upper is subtly adorned with blazer lapels as well as a striking collared shirt and tie detailing down the middle. Retailing at $120 USD, the two silhouettes will be available for preorder on KARL.com and Puma.com on October 18th while a worldwide release is slated for October 19th.
