With summer set to cede its grip of the country to fall, it’s about to be wheat sneaker season, and one of the makeups that Nike has presented as part of their 2019 autumn offerings is this new Nike iD Air Force 1 Pioneer Leather Option “Cosmic Clay.” The Sergio Lozano-designed classic is no stranger to tan and brown hues — it makes for an adaptable canvas thanks to its layered, human anatomy-inspired upper. However, that familiar ethos is interpreted in a slightly different fashion here. The upper is split between tan and black, and also mixes in a veritable medley of materials. Tan mesh and ripstop surround the tongue, a single strip of shaggy tan suede nestles up by the collar, short-haired black suede arrives second from the top for contrast, and the bottom two panels both feature a rugged, textured black material. The toebox adds in a rich, earthy brown, while pops of reddish-orange appear on both the tongue badge, heel hit, and Swoosh graphic. Down below, a black midsole and reddish-orange Air Max units complete the look. A release date hasn’t been announced yet, but you can look for these new Nike shoes to hit Nike.com and select retailers in the coming weeks for $160 USD.
