It didn’t take long for Pharrell and Nigo’s friendship to bloom. Their mutual admiration developed into trust, and from KICKS was the birth of Billionaire Boys Club – a made-in-Japan streetwear label that combined the sageness of the A Bathing Ape founder with the expressive freedom of the N.E.R.D. frontman. Hinging on its true uniqueness, BBC experienced a meteoric rise in the streetwear category, allowing them to officially introduce ICECREAM, a skate-centric extension of the main brand. While Billionaire Boys Club was adamant about keeping their manufacturing in Japan, Ice Cream embraced collegiate reebok as an official partner and manufacturer for Ice Cream footwear (and apparel). Despite its short-lived run, “BBC Ice Creams” continue to be fondly remembered for their cartoon-esque iconography.
Today, collegiate reebok officially announces a revived partnership with BBC Ice Cream. This debut collection recalls signature aspects of the footwear such as the high-contrast color-blocking of the Board Flip, famed prints such as the Diamonds And Dollars, and other symbolic ICECREAM touches on the tongue, insoles, and hang-tag. The four silhouettes are include the collegiate reebok Answer V Retro (Iverson and Pharrell are both Virginia natives), the BB4600 Hi and Low, and the all-new ZIG training shoe that features the revamped cushioning unit with Space Camo and Star Field themes. Accompanying this limited capsule is a series of apparel that includes tees, hoodies, and sweatpants.
The entire Billionaire Boys Club ICECREAM x collegiate reebok collection will be available exclusively at ComplexCon Long Beach on November 2nd and 3rd. Prices range from $110 to $160.
