The pop culture maven that is Virgil Abloh continues to have his hand in multiple territories surrounding the creative scene, applying his talents to a vast array of product boys from Evian water bottles, to IKEA furniture, to of course, his bread and butter that is his apparel/sneaker designs with that of Louis Vuitton, Off-White, and Nike. But out of all of these, his work with the Swoosh has certainly gained the most popularity, and he’s teaming up with Beaverton for one of their last projects to close out the decade arriving via a three-piece set of Nike Waffle Racer SPs. Deconstructed characteristics are as present as they’ve ever been, as each take features gridded uppers and translucent overlays playing on his signature blueprint aesthetic, followed by a double lacing system that features one of the sets intertwining further onto the lateral/medial panels in similar fashion to the highly anticipated Nike Dunk Lows collaboration expected to be releasing just ahead of Christmas day. Co-branded hits are placed in their usual medial slots, and the outsoles take on an aggressive tread built perfectly for the track. Three colorways including a black, blue, and white are all dropping tomorrow, December 12th on SNKRS and at select retailers for $150 a piece.
