Throughout the first three Nike PG models, Paul George and designer Tony Hardman honed in on an impressive package of forefoot Zoom Air and a low-cut design that allowed PG maximum control on the court. For the fourth model, the two have taken on a completely new direction, establishing a new phase of the signature shoe line that may change the future of Air cushioning in performance basketball. While the idea of swapping the strobel with a full cushion was introduced with the KD 12, the PG 4 is the first to feature a complete Air unit, bringing feet directly to the cushion. That means no extraneous foams or rubbers materials will come in between your foot and the padding (with the exception of the flat insoles and your own socks). Beneath the Air Strobel is a full-length Foam midsole and an outsole traction that reflect the signature dimples of the Air unit.
The upper design of the PG has undergone a swift makeover as well with a new shroud that covers the lacing system beneath. Lightly inspired by the Zoom Flight ’98, the PG 4 will be able to tell unique colorway stories via the untraditional zipper construction.
