Back in January, the relationship between sports and luxury fashion was further enriched through a multi-year partnership forged between the NBA and ever-popular luxury house Louis Vuitton. Under the design direction of Virgil Abloh, head menswear designer for the French imprint, this initiative was confirmed to include that of a special LV-branded case for the Larry O’ Brien trophy — which in fact may get some martellata time tonight if LeBron and the Lakers N55214 out the series — as well as a range of products such as monogrammed duffle bags and footwear. In relation to the latter, first images of their collaborative boot own now trickled out on the Internet.
Engineered in low top format, the iteration arrives dressed up with a near-monochromatic look as its entire premium suede base layer, laces, and midsoles are all cowled in an identical dusty brown hue. Accents however, disrupt through gilded hits across the lateral midsole’s trio of LV patterns, the circular lace loops, the mid-foot “Vuitton” bars, and tongue/insole branded hits. Moreover, the interior leather sock liners deviate with light tan skins. Enjoy a first look at the pair here ahead, and stay tuned for word on their official launch date likely happening in the coming months.
