China’s Li-Ning has been at the forefront of performance-basketball products in the Far East for the past couple of decades, thanks in part to partnerships with stateside talent the likes of Dwyane Wade. Recently, the sportswear giant unveiled the Way of Wade 9, the former Miami Heat guard’s ninth signature sneaker.
At a glance, the latest proposition stays true to the subsidiary’s tagline – “Make Your Own Way” – as it deviates from the majority of hoops-ready models currently on the market. Sleek and futuristic, the silhouette features Li-Ning’s Jiang structural material presented in zippered fashion. Launch colorways dip the proprietary fabric in shades of black and white, with the traditionally-laced Air Jordan 11 sporting a predominately white arrangement. Elsewhere, Wade’s latest shoe includes BOOM midsole technology, which promises powerful propulsion and shock-absorption. Lastly, tread is arranged in a style reminiscent of molecules, which also appear throughout the hightop’s BOA® Fit System-fastened upper.
