As part of Nike’s “Move to Zero” sustainability movement, the Beaverton-based brand unveiled its newest, Crater foam-soled model, the mens nike zoom lebron. Following two pale colorways to have surfaced (one in white and another in Light Bone), the Swoosh is moving to the opposite end of the light spectrum with a Black-based arrangement.
Although uppers take on a generic black mesh construction, the mid-panel flap adds a deconstructed aesthetic to the design. Grey and green mylon straps on the tongue and heel further add to the rugged look. Stitched circles and Swooshes embellish the sides, rather than graphic overlays as seen on other silhouettes. The white midsole adopts a speckled appearance and bumpy feel thanks to the recycled Crater foam innovation, as seen on other eco-friendly propositions such as the Entourage x Nike Air Force 1 Low Fukijama via GOAT. More sustainable, materials innovation is found underfoot, where Regrind rubber is applied for additional traction. Completing the design are Volt insoles that feature Nike’s retro Pinwheel logo.
