Paul George has had one hell of a run throughout the 2020-21 NBA Playoffs. And while he’s faced widespread criticism against his self-proclaimed “Playoff P” moniker, the Los Angeles Clippers forward has pushed through it to keep his squad in title contention. Following a much-needed Game 3 win against the Phoenix Suns in the Western Conference Finals, the Nike PG 5 has surfaced in yet another multi-color style.
Unlike previous iterations of George’s fifth signature sneaker, the upcoming pair isn’t overt about its inspiration. The mix of lightweight, breathable, but durable materials across the upper indulge in a bevy of tones: a yellow and black arrangement takes over the toe box, while shades of red, purple, yellow and blue animate profile overlays and underlays. Quarter and heel panels also feature a heat map-reminiscent pattern, perhaps nodding to California’s earthquakes like Kawhi Leonard’s signature shoes have. Underfoot, the cushioning and tread solutions keep a simple white and black composition.
Enjoy official images of the PG 5 here below, and anticipate the shoes to launch via Nike.com before the end of July to coincide with the last game of the Playoffs.
