Rumored to have at least one more lobster-inspired collaboration with the Swoosh in the works, Concepts has recently unveiled a footwear and apparel capsule with Vans inspired by punk groups of decades past.
Paying homage to the 1994 album by the Mighty Mighty Bosstones, the Sk8-Hi, OG Authentic and OG Old Skool NS LX-comprising “Question the Answers” collection couples mohair with “OFF THE WALL” heritage.
“Working with Vans has given us space to experiment with the rich history of punk fashion,” said Deon Point, Concepts Creative Director, in an official press release. “This latest collection, which includes our most progressive in-house clothing assortment, allows us to honor local music history and relay our deep knowledge of luxury design details.”
Featuring Vans’ checkerboard motif, the included shoes bridge the gap between London’s punk-driven fashion of the 1970s and ’80s with the now-aspirational fashion choice of mohair. The hairy material injects a fresh perspective to the decades-old two-tone pattern, with a mix of black/green, brown/white, black/white, red/white and mint/white color combinations also breathing new life into Concepts’ pairs. Like the shoes, the related apparel makes a connection between luxury damier prints, hardcore punk graphics and collegiate branding. Custom shoe boxes also nod to the Sex Pistols, one of the most emblematic groups of London’s hardcore punk era.
Enjoy campaign imagery of the “Question the Answers” collection ahead, as you wait to shop footwear and apparel via cncpts.com, and in-store at CNCPTS Boston, CNCPTS NYC and CNCPTS Dubai on Friday, October 7th.
