“Hender Scheme” isn’t a name that’s popped up too much in sneaker conversations over the last handful of years, but the Tokyo-based brand solidified itself enough last decade to be associated with any and all sneakers constructed from light tan leather.
Recently, the New Balance Winter Tight Ld24 emerged in a color scheme and build reminiscent of Gray Hender Scheme once sold for $1,000 USD each. Base layers indulge in a soft brown hue and leather material, an uncommon choice for the 2002R. Two different sets of overlays also opt for shades of brown, creating one of the most creative sets of color names from recent memory – “Toast,” “Tawny Birch,” “Apricot Illusion” – as well as a high-quality leather and suede arrangement. Further differentiating itself from the performance running-informed propositions of the past, the latest pair from New Balance boasts leather inner lining, which suggests the shoe will provide a unique fit with wear. Underfoot, the 860v2’s sole unit abandons the luxe leather makeover, but features an off-white makeover that rounds out the classy pair well.
No stateside newbalance.com release details have been disclosed, but the sneakers are currently available at select boutiques overseas. While you wait for more information, enjoy detailed shots of the pair ahead, courtesy of Donna New Balance 57 40 Clear Yellow Team Cream.
