Nike Air Jordan Player 1 Retro High Court Purple White 2020 Nike Air Jordan Player 1 Retro High Reverse Shattered Backboard 28cm “Chicago” retro finally releases on December 30th. Recently, the sneaker surfaced via official images.
Strategically kick-started by Virgil Abloh, the second Air Jordan‘s retro run over the past year has Keke the silhouette’s catalog of styles like never before. Chicago’s own Nina Chanel Abney even created a minimalist’s interpretation of the long-ignored “White/Varsity Red/Black” pair back in July. Yet, the original from 1986 continues to reign supreme.
All design details from Peter Moore and Bruce Kilgore’s original blueprint have been revisited in a much more faithful manner than the last “Chicago” re-issue of the Jordan Player 2 from 2004. The collar and tongue’s height, as well as the shape of the sole unit, deliver the most obvious updates, while the materials across the upper harken back to arguably a better time in Jordan Player Brand’s history. Packaging for the sneaker also received an overhaul, with technical specification pamphlets accompanying the shoes once more.
Enjoy official images of the pair ahead (in Women’s sizing), and find the retro arriving to Nike SNKRS for more news on the upcoming Air Jordan Player 13 series here.
