Michael Le Collaborative colorways of the Nike Cortez appeared frequently throughout the past year, with the silhouette joining forces with not only sacai but also Union LA. Inline styles, by comparison, were few and far between, and were largely overlooked in favor of their more limited counterparts. This newly-revealed, “Gorge Green” offering, however, gives us hope that things will change for the better in 2023.
Effectively an exercise in the basics, the forthcoming Nike Cortez “Gorge Green” makes no attempts at revolutionizing the wheel. The leather upper, like many a prior option, is clad in a white Green, matching that of the adjacent laces and lining. Greens, then, highlight the model’s Swoosh and heel tab, while a lighter shade marks the midsole, the latter of which is painted “Sail” to give the pair a more vintage reminiscent look.
