Nike Basketball has played an important part in the brand’s legacy, developing iconic design after iconic design throughout the 1990s.
As basketball footwear became more nimble, the hoops-obsessed team focused on modifying some of its most important designs for lifestyle use. Enter: The Nike Little Posite One, the kids’ version of the original Foamposite shoe that debuted in 1997. The latest offering for the youngest sneaker fans of the family features a mostly dark color palette, evoking the “Cactus” Foams last seen in 2007. Closer inspection, however, reveals important differences in the Little Posite One.
Akin to other Nikes for kids, the upcoming pair includes a number of playful graphics as part of its ensemble. Laces take on a pixel-like pattern that juxtaposes vibrant teal with pitch-dark black. The pair’s upper heavily favors a stealthy finish, but mid-foot shanks and outsoles opt for neon green makeups that starkly contrast the covert aesthetic. Streaks of the aforementioned teal land on the mid-foot shanks, injecting a video game-reminiscent detail that’s supported by the graphics on the sockliners.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and expect a nike.com launch soon.
