The Nike Air Trainer 1 debuted in 1987, delivering yet another glimpse into the mind of Tinker Hatfield. Over the years, the silhouette has gone in-and-out of style, but the sneaker is currently benefitting from a recent re-appreciation of ’80s court footwear.
Ahead of fall, Hatfield’s cross-training design has emerged in a mix of grey, navy, white, and yellow hues. Part of Nike Sportswear’s “Remix” collection, the pair indulges in a “split” wear across its upper. Everything from the leather panels to the “Nike” branding on the tongue boast non-standard finishes for an experimental look. Sole units maintain a relatively tame finish, but traction zones divvy up the top-half’s colors.
