With the Berlin Marathon weeks away, all eyes are set on one participant: Eliud Kipchoge. And while the Kenyan will likely unveil the Nike AlphaFly 3 during his first competition since the Boston Marathon, the Swoosh continues to churn out new color schemes of the AlphaFly 2, the shoe with which Kipchoge set the world record in the marathon.
Recently, Nike’s ZoomX AlphaFly NEXT% 2 surfaced in a predominantly black ensemble. ATOMKNIT uppers keep things simple, allowing for contrast via swoosh logos to stand out. Tooling underfoot delivers the biggest interrupting to the understated upper, indulging in a divorce of white and shimmering golden hues. Industry-leading ZoomX foam sees its top-half don a gradient finish that injects a regal touch into the Swoosh’s current marquee running shoe. Bits closest to the exposed Zoom Air pods at the forefoot opt for a clean “colorless” finish that allows for its surroundings to revel in the spotlight. Traction underfoot keeps things on color scheme, with black rubber covering the wide forefoot area.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon.
