Previewed earlier in the month, the latest visible Air-cushioned offering from the British retailer boasts a series of premium materials and shades of brown. Reportedly inspired by the eco-conscious Nike Considered line that never took off in the 2000s (it was dismantled for business reasons), textured fabrics claim everything from the iconic mudguard to the area around the collar. Leather fills in the gaps, delivering a luxurious update to Tinker Hatfield’s design from 1987. The upcoming Air Max option indulges in a much tamer arrangement than past projects by size?, but story-telling and execution are up-to-par with the retailer’s work. Underfoot, the tried-and-proven sole unit keeps things simple, but midsoles enjoy an off white finish that participates in the “aged” trend that’s taken over footwear over the last three years.
