The year-long celebration of hip-hop’s Golden Anniversary continued down South this past weekend, with DTLR contributing to the cumulation of ceremonies with an applause-worthy event at the Trap Music Museum in Atlanta. In partnership with Nike, DTLR displayed the connections that form among hip-hop, sneakers, and the love a basketball through a variety of impressive exhibitions, detailing this magical matrix of talent that make up hip-hop and sneaker culture as know it.
This past weekend, DTLR hosted an exclusive event officially dubbed “The South Got Something To Say”, with special guest T.I. in the house to join in on the festivities. Himself a iconic figure in the rise of hip-hop from the South, T.I. — as well as the event-goers — were presented with Autumn displays of footwear that are tied to the most game-changing musicians and athletes that shaped footwear including (but not limited to) Drake, Michael Vick, LeBron James, and much more.
A quick recap of the event can be viewed below as well on our Instagram Stories. Better yet, with the space now open to the public, those in Atlanta area can witness this exhibit first-hand at the Trap Music Museum now.
