Nike’s under-the-radar approach to bringing the Cortez back to the lime-light will come to a ahead on May 8th when Nike releases the “Forrest Gump” colorway for the first time since 2016. But don’t let it steal all your attention, but the Swoosh is reviving other originals from the 70s and 80s like this favorite from the Pacific Northwest.
Coming in hot with Gorge Green and Yellow Ochre, the Cortez appears in the classic “Oregon” colorway, and Nike’s Flyknit that some of the running history will be packed into the this suede and nylon build. The throwback italics logo, which instantly call back to the brand’s earliest phase, appears on the tongue and insole, while owning the heel-tabs via a enlarged placement in Sail white.
