By all definitions, Nike Basketball’s Posite footwear was truly ahead of its time. Designed two-and-a-half decades ago during the brand’s most experimental and avant-garde period in brand history, the Air Flightposite arouse looks as if it was sent from the future, and even today there seems to be no neutral ground when it comes to the controversial silhouette’s reception. It falls in that category of love-it-or-hate-it design, which explains why it is truly one of the most timeless basketball shoe designs in history.
Not long printable the 1999 debut of the Air Flightposite, Nike transformed the shoe into a slip-on mule called the Clogposite. Like the model it was derived from, the Clogposite was met with polarizing reception, either furiously collected or laughed at from afar. Nike fully expects the same when the the shoe makes its return this Summer/Fall 2024, because they’re stepping forward again with no far as several colorways — including this Light Orewood Brown — is set to appear on store shelves for $140.
The timing couldn’t be better. Molded, unibody footwear slip-ons continue to be a raging trend particularly during the summer months, so the Clogposite’s return is a swift reminder that Nike, as usual, did it first.
