At the time of writing, only a model title and color names are official. However, drawing from previously released “cleat-ified” Getty nike offerings, the upper will likely remain true to the original shoe. Similar “Vapor Edge” editions of the Air Jordan 4 and Air Jordan 11 saved the most radical changes for the lower half, transforming the midsoles of either while tacking on traction spikes underfoot.
Notably, there’s some already existing demand and precedent that this cleated version will tap into. Odell Beckham, Ceedee Lamb, Jalen Mills and Miles Sanders are among those who have rocked Kobe cleats customs on game day, the latter two Eagles specifically commissioning “Grinch” editions on their own accord.
