A “GR” is an abbreviation for industry term “General Release”, which typically means that the shoes will be produced in mass quantity and will not be limited in number.

Michael Jordan debuted the AJ3 during the 1988 NBA All-Star Game, wearing the Black/Grey colorway. He wore the “White Cement” during the 1988 Dunk Contest.
