The Nike Cortez Joins The “Olympic” Collection

In 1972, Nike authored one of its biggest success stories by debuting the Nike Cortez at the Munich Olympic Games, jump-starting extreme consumer demand and charting a promising path for the track shoe turned lifestyle icon. Now that the model has made its way back to the mainline in recent years, a special “Olympic” colorway makes all too much sense.

The Nike Cortez “Olympic” takes after similarly-inspired versions of the nike air jordan 1 high retro pollen rise and Dunk Low among other lifestyle classics, decorated by gold accents and a Navy Swoosh and heel. Adding just a dash of sophistication, script branding hits the tongue and insoles. While rather simplistic in nature, this particular pair thrives off its rich ties to the international sporting event, although you’d be pressed to argue against traditional Cortez color blocking in any scenario.

We’ve yet to hear of a release date at this time of this writing, but pairs should start trickling out to retailers over the next few weeks as the 2024 Paris Games loom closer. Until then, enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page to preview other upcoming “Olympic” pairs.
