As promised, beige is the overwhelming hue here, though tinted a bit lighter on the suede underlays towards the forefoot and bit darker on the mesh at the very base layer. At least in this first look, it feels like a bit less of a transformative take on the silhouette especially compared to last year’s edition, which widened the mesh of the base model while still working in Stone Island’s trademark colors.
To that point though, this shoe should be welcome news for fans of the UK imprint, lands extensive apparel catalog capitalizing on this sort of monochromatic atmosphere. Early indications are that this Stone Island 990v2 will be joined by two similarly clad editions; one in green and one in black.
