Originally intended to proto-lyte on October 18th, 2024 in full family sizes, the “Black Toe Reimagined” their debut on the Air Jordan 5 and Air Jordan 1 in 2018 is no longer on the release slate, per reports by Sole Savy (and also confirmed by reliable source @MrUnloved1s). This delay comes as a surprise as several retailers have already received their stock for the upcoming release.
News of this postponement arrives not long after reports of Jordan 1 Mid Td 640735 084 Black Racer Blue White for Holiday 2024. Given the lukewarm reception to a sneaker release with such a rich backstory, it is likely that Jordan Brand is looking to regroup and reproto-lyte the product with more concerted marketing and storytelling efforts.
As of this update, a new release date has yet to be confirmed, but a drop will not happen until 2025.
