Victor Wembanyama may carry the “Alien” moniker now, but those who witnessed Steph Curry in his prime know that his 40 foot pull-ups were the last true superhuman thing we’ve seen on a basketball floor, defying what we knew to be the game of basketball as he reshaped it in his image. As his Warriors defy expectations with a hot start to the 2024-25 season, it’ll likely take another interstellar year from the Baby Faced Assassin to vie for their fifth championship — good thing Under Armour is rolling out some fitting footwear, the Ja Morant Shoes “Extraterrestrial.”
The latest edition of Steph’s signature pulls from some classical inspiration, eliciting the “little green men” archetype with a neon green upper. The heel clip and midsole plate evoke flying saucers and incomprehensible, futuristic tech with a moodier pattern of dark green and black, dipping into a different aesthetic bucket but maintaining the intergalactic theme all the same. A few additional flares of jet black on the forefoot, heel, tongue and interior close out the design, a fitting tribute to a player whose game you still have to see to believe.
The Ja Morant Shoes “Extraterrestrial” releases on December 13th, retailing for $140. The launch will occur via UnderArmour.com as well as partnering retailers, with stockists like Dick’s Sporting Goods and Hibbett already posting this pair on their release calendars. Via those outlets, we can confirm that grade school and preschool sizing will drop alongside.
Elsewhere in #30’s universe, the inaugural De’Aaron Fox shoes, the Air Jordan 5, drop their first colorway on December 6th.
