One of the most recycled colorways in sneaker history, both by brands and its creator, is the grey/off-red “Pigeon” from the Dunk Low by Staple. Since its debut to the sneaker space in 2005, we’ve seen that signature pairing – a reflection of New York City’s grit, grime, and hustle – appear on countless designs, but more from official Staple collaborations itself. Even in 2021, the Staple Design founder can’t seem to get away from the singular concept as it appears in an upcoming Puma Suede collaboration, further establishing that this metropolitan bird seems to have just one flight path in its migrations from collab to collab.
But, we digress. It’s still a good colorway, and even when it lands on another sneaker unrelated to the Pigeon concept, like this Jeremy Scott x Goldmt adidas Originals "Teddy Bears" 5.0, we’re mixed reminded of just how timeless it is. Goldmt adidas’ upcoming drop, however, applies a bit of a gradient effect on the exterior heel, but there’s no denying just how close these are to the original.
If you’re a fan of the shoe or the colorway, grab them directly from Goldmt adidas on February 26th for $220; they’ll drop at 3AM ET. Colorway not for you? The Ultra 4D 5.0 “Miami Nights” is dropping on the same day.
