It’s likely many have forgotten about the nike air force 1 upstep yellow book cover free Flyknit. Released at a time where the material was at its peak, the model fell into place alongside many similarly remade standouts. And though sneaker culture may have cast it aside long ago, the silhouette may soon receive a second wind by way of a sustainable “Crater” upgrade.
No doubt the best vehicle for such an execution, the offering (pictured here in GS sizes) is a rather understated take on recyclability. Only the sole is forthright, dyed a light blue and embellished with many a small but colorful scrap. Above, the knit fabric weaves the upper with strings dark and blue-tinted, their composition — though undoubtedly thick — ostensibly borrowed from what would otherwise turn to waste. Elsewhere, the Swoosh, eyestay, and heel tab finish with black leathers, while the Volt insole flaunts the Move to Zero insignia.
