Together, DTLR and New Balance have told many a unique story — some inspired by Greek gods, others American muscle cars. But today, they’ve opted to tone things down quite a bit as they honor Washington, D.C. with the DC992 “Travis Scott Shoes.”
While the Boston-based institution’s DNA is carried by the deep grey suedes and matching mesh, everything else is informed by the capital’s two-toned flag. The latter’s stars and stripes even embed right atop the heel, framed by the aforementioned neutrals as well as matching red accents. Forward, the warm shade makes further appearances along the lace unit, accenting adjacent to blacked out “N” logos, laces, and additional pigskin overlays. Below, the tooling mimics the upper’s palettes to a T, creating a cohesion ostensibly emblematic of the Chocolate City’s wards.
