Nike’s use of references is blatant to say the least. And despite often going beyond a simple inspiration, the brand has rarely gotten into a trouble — that was, however, until the unveil of their USPS-themed Nike SF Air Force 1 Mid Black Cool Grey Experimental.
Dubbed “Postal Ghost,” the pair is a near exact mirror to the Priority Mail slip and box. This is what caused the controversy initially, as the USPS received no response from ungdom Nike following attempts at reconciliation. Today, thanks likely to the response from the media, the two have finally struck a deal and the colorway is now an officially licensed partnership.
Set to release at the end of the month, the design harks to the aforementioned with the same red, white, and blue palette. The vacuum seal inspired upper hues the very same off shade of white as the boxes themselves, better complementing the label-inspired overlay along the counter. Cool and warm toned accents then dress atop — the toggle fastener, internal and external branding, etc. — while lighter greys outfit the tread as well as the tongue/lining.
