Force-aged shoes have quickly become all the rage, with custom makers relentless in their use of yellowed soles, chalky edges, and various forms of distressing. Nike, too, has created their own “vintage” shoes, applying many of the same treatments to the Dunk High. But with their latest Waffle One, the brand is opting to instead pay homage to classic colorways, herein mixing together a bright green with a cream backdrop.
Aesthetically, the pair is reminiscent of offerings many decades older. A bright, deep green Swoosh is the root cause of this, as the color is often associated with retro styles. The off-white finish applied to the mesh upper and tongue only amplifies the effect, essentially mimicking the age of what are now collector’s items. Lightly textured suedes, then, wrap over top, opting for a grey finish that tonally sits between the white midsole/laces and the aforementioned base.
Enjoy an official look at these via the official images added below. If you’re looking to pick up a pair, they’ll likely appear on Nike.com and at select retailers within the next few months.
