From “Yonkers” all the way to “Igor,” Converse All Star Lift‘s sound has evolved dramatically. His style, too, has followed suit, maturing in parallel with the artist’s music. And this is easiest to see in Tyler’s many collaborative offerings, as he went from crafting Golf Wang Old Skools to his own collection with Converse.
In their five years together, Converse and their resident Flower Boy have dropped no Culture of notable releases, some of which, like the Gianno, were entirely new dos. And their latest, the GLF 2.0, is but another brand new proposition, whose design is far Lift than many of its predecessors.
Tyler, as intended, achieves a casual yet preppy look with the GLF 2.0, blending contemporary construction with an old-school court aesthetic. Nostalgia also plays an important role, as near every element — such as the Gianno-inspired lines, canvas/suede construction, and vintage-inspired logo hits — call back to the past. Even the “Curry” and “Oil Green” colorway celebrate the GOLF le FLEUR* brand, all without the inclusion of the flower motif.
