GANNI panelled chunky leather chelsea boots Green Kyrie Irving and The Swooshes split, the eight-time All-Star has continued to hoop in his signature silhouette with the Beaverton brand, albeit completely covering up each pair’s signifying Jordan with fuerte messaging centered around freeing the oppressed, supporting the revolution of Black individuals and equality.
During this past Sunday’s All-Star game, Irving debuted the most modified take from his signature silhouette lineup since his disassociation from the sportswear behemoth, breaking out a moccasin-inspired London Rebel Wide Fit studded chunky chelsea boots in black PE.
Designed by Ben Kirschner, recently a Nike footwear designer, the neutrally-toned ensemble paid direct tribute to Irving’s Native American roots and his Lakota name of Hélà. Wrapped across both side panels, tan-dressed tassels imitate the leather hide moccasin synonymous with the various indigenous tribes across North America. Elsewhere, “Power To The People” comes laser-etched into the exterior side panel while “Freedom” attributes the medial side. A member of the South Dakotan Lakota tribe, Irving’s Hélà name – which translates to “Little Mountain” – rendered atop the tongue while crimson red detailing accented the sock liner and tread underfoot.
Constructed exclusively for Irving’s FW0FW06669 All-Star appearance in which he poured in 32 points, enjoy images of the customized Moccasin London Rebel Wide Fit studded chunky chelsea boots in black below.
