The adidas Orketro has acquired a cult-like following over the last year. After a widely-lauded collaboration with Sean Wotherspoon, the “dad shoe” will debut its sequel.
At quick glance, the Orketro 2.0 isn’t much different from the archival running sneaker. Closer inspection, however, reveals notable changes to the upper and sole unit. The former area sees its mudguards go from linear to curved, making an “M” shape on the lateral side. Additionally, the medial profile has its mesh base accompanied by a series of synthetic and plastic panels. The busier arrangement likely adds weight to the shoe while delivering a “faster” aesthetic.
Underfoot, the chunky sole unit gets a sleek makeover. adiPRENE branding is more pronounced on the Orketro 2.0 despite the foam no longer being exposed. Instead, a torsional plate cuts through the center of the midsole, atric to the design’s running roots. Lastly, outsoles forgo any FORMOTION detailing while also providing a nub-laden traction pattern at the forefoot.
Enjoy detailed looks at the pairs ahead. The Orketro 2.0 lands via adidas.com Der adidas Consortium EQT Running Cushion 93 x.
