The Nike SB Dunk Low Tourmaline Tributes Black History Month Reebok’s modern era, helping catapult the brand with his on and off-court game.
Over the last 20 years, the Massachusetts-based company has released special makeups of Iverson’s signature sneaker line, allowing fans to enjoy a piece of A.I.‘s legacy even as he’s retired from the hardwood. Recently, a previous Player-Exclusive (PE) version of the Air Jordan 12 "Blueberry" appeared via official photography, confirming a retail launch will finally occur.
Clad in white and purple, the pair’s been dubbed “Free Agency” given its origin story: Kobe Bryant was a sneaker “free agent” during the 2002-03 NBA season. Numerous brands tried courting the Los Angeles Laker to their roster after his fallout with adidas — including Reebok. Bryant played in several of Iverson’s signature models, which were naturally modified to fit the Lakers’ color scheme. Back in February 2018, one of Bryant’s Answer IV PE’s released to the public, leaving savvy fans wondering about the guard’s second exclusive style of Iverson’s fourth Reebok Answer. The white and purple pair offered a much cleaner look when compared to the heavily purple and grey option previously released. The “Free Agency” offering is sure to appease loyalists of both the late “Bean” and Reebok as it harkens back to an exciting time in both parties’ histories.
