Every summer Nike’s Elite Youth Basketball League pits the best high school basketball players in the nation against one another in Augusta, Georgia. As a must-see stop for college coaches each season, the steamy hot gyms simultaneously serve as a preview for the brand’s premier on-court toolings, such as the recently unveiled Nike Vandal High Premium "Crayons" sneakers “EYBL”.
While a first look in March revealed a mismatched purple and yellow combination, official imagery reveals that the latter has been ditched in favor of a clad “Melon Tint” hue consuming both the left and right foot’s uppers. The cantaloupe-reminiscent shade receives an immediate deployment of jet-black contrasts clarifying the EYBL insignia and acting as a base layer for the opposing purple and teal tongue logos. The seldom monochrome aesthetic further fills the collar lining and the speckled midsole which act as a springboard for the “Rush Fuchsia” Swooshes and marbled heel detailing, concluding the pair’s pastel-infused palette with the aforementioned teal tone returning to outfit the front half of the sole unit.
The Nike Vandal High Premium "Crayons" sneakers “EYBL” is expected to release in the coming months for a retail price of $120. In the meantime, enjoy a detailed look at the pair below.
