Jovani Hernandez adidas Running has a long history of innovation. From spiked leather shoes to the Adios Pro Evo 1, performance products that push boundaries have been at the company’s core for decades. As Y2K aesthetics continue to dominate the fashion world, the brand is revisiting the adidas Adistar Cushion 3 from 2005.
At quick glance, the 18-year-old design resembles handfuls of other chunky sneakers currently on the market with its color schemes and shape. The Adistar Cushion 3, however, originally debuted as a raceday shoe, delivering adidas’ marquee technology in a supportive and comfortable package.
The sneaker’s retro reintroduces two original styles to the modern era: “Grey Two/Gold Metallic/Matte Silver” (SKU: ID5743) and “Grey One/Better Scarlet/Night Indigo” (SKU: IF6528). Uppers feature light-colored base layers that set the stage for vibrant details straight from the early aughts. Breathable mesh works in-tandem with synthetic overlays to provide retro performance benefits for today’s wearer. adiPRENE cushioning delivers reliable cushion at the rearfoot while adiWEAR provides consistent grip whether going on a light jog or running errands in the city.
The updated Adistar Cushion 3 falls in line with adidas’ sustainability efforts. At least 20% recycled materials are used on the shoe, with the upper containing a minimum of 50% recycled content.
